Coffs Harbour to host July Telstra SAP Country Gala Day

July 27th, 2018

Around 200 players will be travelling to C.ex International Stadium, Coffs Harbour this weekend for the Telstra Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) Country Gala Day.

Running on Sunday 29th July, regional teams from Football Mid North Coast, North Coast Football and Northern Inland Football will be divided into three age groups, 10 Years, 11 Years and 12 Years.

All draws have been formulated to provide teams with a variety of opposition from participating Zones over the course of the Gala Day. On some occasions teams are required to play matches in succession, however, this has been avoided where possible.

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) Technical Advisor, Leo Bertos, said the Country Gala Day is a fantastic event that is extremely beneficial to not only the players, but coaches and parents as well.

“The gala day gives the SAP players the opportunity to travel away to somewhere different to play,” Bertos said.

“It is also an opportunity for the SAP coaches to get together to discuss how their program is going and share training methods and exercises that are working well with their players,” he concluded.

The Telstra SAP Country Gala Days has been held each month this year going from February to August. The next and final Gala Day of the year will be held on the 18th and 19th of August.
