Community grand finals kick off across northern NSW

September 9th, 2022

Community football grand finals will kick off across northern NSW from this weekend.

After a season plagued by wet weather, thousands of community players from across the member federation will get the chance to end their season on a high.

Northern NSW Football Community Football Manager Ross Hicks said it was an exciting time of year.

“These players have worked so hard to reach their grand finals and deserve the chance to be crowned champions,” Hicks said.

“It will be a fitting way for our players, coaches, match officials and hard-working volunteers to finish the season. We wish everyone involved in community grand finals all the very best.

“While not every team can be champions, I encourage everyone to be a champion in the way they conduct themselves on the pitch, on the sidelines and online.

“Be a champion for the game. Be a champion for football.”

Hicks also thanked Northern NSW Football’s major partner of community football Newcastle Permanent.

Northern NSW Football and Newcastle Permanent were delighted to announce the extension of their partnership into a 15th year in March.

Newcastle Permanent, the official financial institution of Northern NSW Football, have proudly held the role since 2008.

The partnership has helped northern NSW families lead healthy, happy and active lives, provided valuable equipment and signage to northern NSW community football clubs and helped stabilise player registration fees for families.
