FFA Talent ID Coaching Course returning to LMRFF

August 2nd, 2018

Northern NSW Football will be holding a FFA Talent ID Course on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2018.

The two-day course is aimed at Technical Directors and club coaches in the Under 13 to Under 16 age group, however, will be a beneficial course for all aspiring coaches.

Those who attend the two-day course will be awarded 30 points towards their coaching accreditation.

With Australia’s relatively small population and fierce competition from other team sports, we can’t afford to let a potentially talented player slip through our identification and selection net.

The ability to identify talent is a cornerstone of any successful development program.

The two-day course is based around the following areas:

  • Great Talent is not necessarily right talent – What are the critical competencies that drive success in football?
  • What you see is not necessarily what you get – It’s not current performance that counts, it’s the story behind the performance.
  • Never overrate certificates and never underrate character – Factors that will help a player’s drive to succeed, learning the potential of the player, mindset.

Anyone can observe a group of players and identify a dominant performer but how many can look beyond the obvious to find the hidden jewel?

FFA Talent ID Course Details:

Cost: $80
When: Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September
Where: Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, Speers Point
