Inaugural NNSWF Community State Youth Championships launched

April 1st, 2022

It will be Member Zone v Member Zone when the best community footballers take to the pitch at the inaugural NNSWF Community State Youth Championships.

Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, the Home of Football in northern NSW, will host the tournament this July

Boys and girls aged 11 to 16 will be in action, with the tournament created for community footballers. NPL, Northern League One and full-time JDL players are ineligible.

Member Zones can enter two teams (one girls, one boys) per age category.

Teams will compete in a round robin style tournament culminating in a Community State Youth Championships grand final in each age group and gender competition.

Football Mid North Coast, Northern Inland, Newcastle Football, Hunter Valley Football and Macquarie Football member zones will all enter teams. North Coast Football and Football Far North Coast will not participate this year following the floods in northern NSW.

Northern NSW Football General Manager Football Operations Liam Bentley said the tournament would be a wonderful opportunity for community footballers to shine.

“It’s going to be a great weekend and a really exciting opportunity,” Bentley said.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing these players get a chance to play at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility and represent their member zone.”

Zones are now accepting team registrations.

Expressions of interest can be registered HERE. Registrations as a player, coach or volunteer close on Friday 20 May.
