Isolation Cup

April 9th, 2020

COVID-19 has stalled traditional sports around the world. With football suspended in Australia until at least the 31st May 2020 we have had to look at ways of keeping our football community active and connected during isolation. Esports and online gaming is a way of doing just that.

Isolation Cup II – Ultimate Team Edition

Will be held Friday 8th May 2020 from 5pm. The tournament is a 1v1 knockout. Be quick to register your spot in the 32 player tournament. Who has the Ultimate Team!

What are Esports?

It’s pretty simple: it’s video games played competitively.

Just like traditional sports, there are many different kinds of games to play or watch. Some are virtual representations of real-world sports (like FIFA or iRacing), others are wild fantasy worlds that bear little to no resemblance to real life (like League of Legends or Starcraft II).

The EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series brings together the best competitors from around the world to compete in over 20 football leagues and competitions across five continents. EA has made the decision to suspend all EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series events until further notice due the continued impact of COVID-19 around the world.

Motorsport fans are best positioned here.

Formula 1 has launched a Virtual Grand Prix Series to replace the races that have been postponed due to the coronavirus.

Current F1 drivers will play the F1 2019 PC gameon the same tracks as the cancelled races. The events will run on the same weekends the real-life Grand Prix were due, and they’ll be broadcast on the official Formula 1 Twitch and YouTube channels.
