Newcastle Permanent Community Awards for 2019 Announced

November 8th, 2019

The Newcastle Permanent Community Awards for 2019 were announced recently. These awards provide the much needed recognition for the people that keep our game running throughout the year. The coaches, the volunteers and the referees contributing each week to their local footballing communities.

The winners of the Northern Inland Football Community Awards are:

Coach of the Year

Darrel Smith

Darrel’s work as a coach at Moree Services FC has provided quality leadership, support and encouragement to all within the local footballing community – but also has been a representative for the indigenous community within Northern Inland Football.

Volunteer of the Year

Deanna Sharman

Dee has been an integral part of Glen Innes FC committee for over five years. A coach, a division leader, secretary, club registrar and canteen operator – just some of the contributions she has made over the past few years. The control center of Glenn Innes.

Referee of the Year

Alicia Guest

Alicia has completed both theory and field assessments of a Level 3 Official. Alicia has possessed the highest of ethics in every game she officiates; including the Men’s 1st Grade equivalent in the Johnson Cup, receiving a letter of commendation from a participating team.
