NIAS National Football Camp 2018

November 23rd, 2017

On behalf of James Cooper, Chief Executive Officer, Northern Inland Academy of Sports

The Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) has great pleasure in inviting you to the 2018 National Football Camp, a comprehensive three-day football camp that will be attended by Manchester United First Team Scout, Stephen McCarthy.

I am hopeful you will share this information with all players in your clubs U11-U17 age groups as would love for your athletes to join our second National Football Camp (NFC). NIAS is pleased to announce that applications for the 2018 NFC are now ‘OPEN’. We cannot wait to welcome you to Armidale in January.

The NFC is a unique Football camp for girls and boys aged U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17 who will join us in Armidale from across the eastern seaboard of Australia. They will develop their football skills in a feel-good atmosphere against athletes from all regions with the support of the Northern NSW Football, Northern Inland Football and the Newington College Football staff. The four-day camp is designed to test athletes as they progress from basic skills through to match play and will be run at the back end of the Christmas school holidays from the 20th – 23rd January 2018.

We’ve learned over many years of hosting events of this nature that the quality of the experience the athletes enjoy is determined by the quality of program content and coaching. We’re absolutely blessed that Newington College’s Head of Football Mr Brian McCarthy will again be taking the reins of the NFC; Brian will be supported by his son, Stephen McCarthy, a UEFA qualified coach who is a first team scout working for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, Ed Summers, Newington Sports Coordinator and Northern NSW Football Technical Directors.

Whilst in Armidale for the National Football Camp, Stephen McCarthy from Manchester United will be present for the entirety of the camp to view and assist all participants with their development:

– Information / Guidance to parents and coaches on individual improvements (set session)

– Personal interaction between Stephen and the participants including player analysis, reports and feedback

– Match analysis and feedback

We cannot wait to welcome Stephen McCarthy from Manchester United to Armidale in January.

I would encourage you to go to our website to gain a greater insight into how the week operates.
