Shoosh for Kids returns for 2022

May 2nd, 2022

Shoosh for Kids is back in 2022 and the message is clear – if you can’t say anything nice at kids’ football, don’t say anything.

Happening right across May, now is the time to sign up and keep the focus on fun so kids keep playing football.

About Shoosh for Kids

Shoosh for Kids is a collaborative effort between the NSW Office of Sport and sector partners, including Northern NSW Football, to promote positive behaviour at kids’ sport.

We want to support your club to provide positive environments, while also addressing issues arising from poor behaviour including:

  • Abuse of officials
  • Reduced volunteer numbers
  • Reduced participation rates (due to poor experiences/non-enjoyment/too competitive)

Northern NSW Football Community Football Manager Ross Hicks said Shoosh for Kids was a worthwhile campaign to support.

“Shoosh for Kids has a number of benefits for players, parents, coaches, volunteers and match officials,” Hicks said.

“The message is simple. Keep it positive, keep it fun and keep kids coming back to junior sport.

“Help us make kids’ football a safe, fun and inclusive experience on and off the pitch.”
