Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce South Armidale FC, from Northern Inland Football as Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month for May 2019.
South Armidale FC was awarded as the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award due to their significant contribution to their local community.
This year the club provided an opportunity to engage with the local refugee group who were recently settled in Armidale and has worked selflessly to accommodate the players by reducing registration fees, obtaining some funding and receiving discounted boots and shin pads for the players.
There are now two (2) Senior teams competing in the Armidale men’s competition, with some junior players also registering.
“South Armidale has made a significant and valuable contribution to the local community through its successful implementation of support to help provide future players with further opportunities,” NNSWF Senior Officer Community Football Ross Hicks commented.
“This has allowed the players and families to integrate into the community and put a smile on their faces.
“We applaud the efforts of the South Armidale Committee, coaches and players which demonstrate that community is integral to the club’s ethos,” Hicks concluded.
Newcastle Permanent Armidale Branch Manager, Judith Hansen, echoed Hicks’ sentiments and is pleased the local Northern Inland Football club has been rewarded for its efforts.
“Newcastle Permanent is committed to supporting great community initiatives and the Club of the Month Award provides us with the opportunity to recognise and reward clubs for the valuable contributions they make to their local area, both on and off the field.,” Hansen said.
South Armidale Football Club will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher thanks to Newcastle Permanent that will allow the club to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts in growing the game in the Region.
The Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award recognises clubs for contribution to football on and off the playing field across areas including football experience, club activities, coach, volunteer management and special projects.
