Player depth will be tested this weekend in the Tamworth Women’s Division with the school holidays leaving many teams struggling for players.
Among those battling the lack of depth is Oxley Vale Attunga. OVA sit third on the table with 15-points and this weekend face the seventh placed Kootingal White.
Assistant coach Matt Baker will lead the side from a coaching perspective with regular coach Steve Doherty unavailable.
According to the coach his focus has been simply managing to pull together a side for Saturday’s clash, which gets underway at 1pm at Riverside Park.
“With school holidays just managing to get a side together! We have at least five players away, but they all know their roles and really just hoping for a good performance,” Doherty said.
Later in the day, the sixth placed Kootingal Purple play the fifth Quirindi White. A win for the Kougars would move them equal on points with Quirindi, with the goal difference currently three goals between the two sides.
In the round’s other match, North Companions White play Quirindi Blue, while the match between the top-of-the-table Tamworth and North Companions Black has been rescheduled for 11am on Saturday 17 July.
